Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We deliberately collect as little as possible. Specifically:

• Email address — collected only if you submit a review or create an account, so you can manage your own reviews later.
• Review content — the star ratings, tags, written text, and lease dates you submit.
• Marketing opt-in status — a simple yes/no, based on whether you checked an optional box when submitting a review.
• Basic technical data — standard information collected by any website, such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the Site functioning.

What we do not collect: your name, your home address, your phone number, or any public profile information about you. There is no public reviewer profile on Tenantry.

2. How We Use What We Collect

• To send you a secure "magic link" so you can view, edit, or delete your own past reviews without a password.
• To send you optional updates, only if you separately opted in to marketing communications.
• To moderate content and respond to reports of reviews that may violate our Terms of Service.
• To maintain the security and basic operation of the Site.

We do not use your email address for any purpose beyond what's listed above, and we do not sell your information to third parties.

3. Your Review Is Anonymous — Your Email Is Not Shown

Your email address is never displayed alongside your review, and no reviewer name appears anywhere on the public Site. Internally, your email is linked to the reviews you've written so that you can manage them — this is what makes editing/deleting possible without a password. See Section 8 for the one important limit on this.

4. Who We Share Data With

We share data only with the service providers necessary to run Tenantry, currently:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores the data described above.
• Resend — our email delivery provider, used to send magic links and any opted-in updates.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms; we do not sell or share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any party outside of operating the Service itself.

5. Data Retention

We retain your email address and review-management data for as long as you have reviews on the platform, or until you request deletion (see Section 6).

6. Your Choices

• Edit or delete your review: use the magic link sent to your email at the time of your review, or request one again via the Site.
• Delete your email/account data entirely: contact us at support@tenantry.us and we will remove your reviewer record. Note: this will also remove your ability to edit or delete the specific reviews tied to that email going forward, since the review itself stays published (the review is separate content from your account, consistent with Section 7 of the Terms of Service) unless you request its removal at the same time.
• Opt out of marketing emails: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us directly.

7. Children's Privacy

Tenantry is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Important: Limits on Anonymity

We design Tenantry so that your identity is never shown publicly, and we do not disclose reviewer identities voluntarily. However, we may be legally required to disclose your email address — for example, in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process, including in a defamation lawsuit brought by a landlord against a reviewer. If we receive such a request, we will evaluate it for validity and, unless prohibited by law, notify you before complying. We believe you deserve to know this upfront rather than discover it later.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we collect. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
