Overall, they were great landlords, and I would rent from them again. The apartments are mostly renovated, and they’re prompt about addressing repairs. They raised the rent every year but were open to negotiating. One year, we negotiated no increase because we’d had persistent, back-to-back issues with the dishwasher and washer/dryer. The following year, though, they tried to increase the rent to account for both that year and the increase we’d avoided the year before, which felt unfair. By the time I moved out, they were asking for a substantial increase. My impression is that the initial rent had been discounted quite a bit coming out of COVID, and they were trying to bring it back up to market rates. We paid for a cleaning service before moving out, but they charged us for cleaning again anyway. That wasn’t ideal, though we’d lived there for almost four years, and there were wall marks and holes from mounted TVs that we hadn’t paid to repair, so I wasn’t too upset about it.
