Camden Westwood

Awful experience. It started out so good, but then we had downstairs neighbors that smoked weed and cigarettes late at night. We personally don't have an issue with people who do that but when the smell seeps into your apartment it becomes a problem. When we reported this issue to the main office, Christina told us that we need to TAKE PHOTOS OF THEM smoking for proof otherwise they can't do anything. Even though we live on a no smoking property, they wanted us to violate their privacy and "catch them in the act". We felt like this was incredibly unprofessional and unfair. Nothing came of that. However, a month later there was a massive fire that took out an entire building on the property. Thankfully this was not our building, but the fire was caused by a still-lit cigarette. Turns out (and this might be on us for lack of research) the Camden Westwood had 4 major fires in the past 10 years. The buildings were older and outdated yes but that didn't bother us. But the only emergency exit we had was a wooden staircase since every building was a breezeway. This easily could've been our building, especially with the tenants that smoked on their balcony below us. After the fire, they raised our rent by 10%. Valet trash wasn't coming and there were trash piles everywhere. Maintenance didn't respond or ghosted us when we had something that needed repairs. The pool became dirty and unmaintained. The gym was unmaintained and was out of wipes and trashes overfilled. It seemed like they start cutting corners and it really took away from the experience we had at the beginning. So no, I can't really recommend living here. Always check to see the fire history for any place you rent!
